Try pasta that versatile staple that you will find in many of our cupboards, made from durum wheat. Couscous also known as semolina, rustle up a salad, quick & convenient add olives peppers and tomatoes for that Mediterranean feel. Egg rice a tasty lunch for all.

Whole grain cereals are the ultimate food when the bran and germ are not removed the resulting cereal retains its vitamins, minerals, fats, oils and proteins and of course the all important carbohydrate that will transform into vital fuel enabling us to carry on throughout the delay without flagging.

Porridge for breakfast is an amazing way to start the day, have it on its own or with nuts, seeds, and fruit for a healthy balanced meal that will not stretch our purse strings. Some even like it with a savoury flavour adding salt or soy sauce.

We’ve all had it; as soon as we come back after a lunch break the tiredness sets in and we find ourselves drifting off. The immediate thing we do is get ourselves a coffee or a high energy drink to give us a boost but we all know that that will always end up with an even bigger crash later on in the day.

I can’t re-iterate enough the importance of a balanced diet in order to over come these feelings of drowsiness during the working day. I know how hard it can be sometimes to find the time to start your day with a large breakfast but it will always work wonders for your metabolism and energy for the rest of the time you operate. And it doesn’t have to be as unhealthy as a fry up every morning. I like to start my day with poached eggs with some brown bread. You get the protein without the fat from the frying process. Beans are always good as they can bulk out the meal and give it a bit more variety. It’s always nice to have a glass of fruit juice as well in order to get your five a day. I know some people complain that they aren’t hungry when they get up but it is possible for your body to adjust and enjoy food first thing in the morning. You’ll notice the benefits very soon.

How to Make a Spanish Rice Recipe

These days due to hectic schedule at work and other household chores we rarely find time for cooking, even if we have a polti vaporetto comfort to help us out with daily cleaning. Well, you will need round beef (1 pound lean), instant rice (1 cup), onion (1 medium and chopped), tomato sauce (1 can or 15 ounce), mustard (1 teaspoon), hot water (3/4 cup), Worcestershire sauce (1 teaspoon), salt (1 teaspoon) and sugar (1 teaspoon).

This recipe has very simple steps. You can begin by talking a skillet and place it on medium heat. Now pour the brown beef, onion, green pepper and rice in it. You will need to cook these ingredients for a few minutes. Before you take out the skillet from the heat add the rest of the ingredients like tomato sauce, salt, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and the sugar. You should keep one thing in mind that while cooking, keep stirring the ingredients continuously so that they do not burn up. You have to keep cooking till it reaches the boiling point. Now cover the container, let it simmer for 20 to 25 minutes. The recipe will be ready once the rice is tender. Remove it from heat and serve the dish with salad and bread.
